Job Description

A dynamic opportunity exists for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in telemetry and med/surg nursing to provide exceptional care within a specialized orthopedic and neuro medical-surgical unit. This travel position is based in Quincy, MA, offering exposure to a diverse patient population in a well-regarded healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients on a 32-bed orthopedic/neuro med-surg unit, including fracture care and neuro assessments.
  • Accurately interpret telemetry strips to monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage patient overflow from other medical units.
  • Adhere to established patient-to-nurse ratios: typically 1:4 or 1:5 depending on the shift.
  • Utilize the EPIC electronic medical record system for charting and documentation.
  • Adapt flexibly to floating assignments across applicable units as needed.
  • Participate in rotating shifts for day rotators, with potential shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM, 11 AM to 11 PM, or 7 PM to 7 AM. Night shift roles do not typically rotate.

Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts RN license and BLS certification required; ACLS certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a med/surg role with strong neuro assessment skills.
  • Proven competency in telemetry monitoring and interpretation.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment with varied case loads.
