Job Description
A healthcare role is available for an experienced RN to serve as an Acute Care Charge Nurse, overseeing patient care and nursing staff within the acute care setting. This contract position offers a dynamic work environment where leadership, clinical expertise, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise all nursing department staff, assign duties, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
- Oversee daily operations of the acute care nursing unit, maintaining high standards of care and organization.
- Utilize nursing processes and continuous quality improvement to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide backup support to the Emergency Department as needed.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local healthcare regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse License in California.
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Minimum of three years nursing experience.
- At least one year of leadership experience in a clinical setting.
- Proficient typing and general computer skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, capable of interpreting medical terminology and effectively interacting with staff and patients.
