Job Description

A registered nurse opportunity in Phoenix, AZ offers the chance to contribute to high-level tertiary care within a renowned 607-bed teaching hospital serving as a center for medical education and research. This contract role supports a variety of specialty units including emergency, neuro ICU, and transplant services, with a strong emphasis on trauma level I care and Cerner EMR proficiency.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of core experience specific to the specialty unit applied for
  • Level I Trauma experience in an acute care setting
  • Previous travel nursing experience, especially in emergency or neuro ICU environments
  • Proficient in Cerner EMR systems for documentation and charting
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment
  • Ability to pass required Prophecy Dysrhythmia exam within 24-48 hours prior to assignment acceptance (maximum two attempts)
  • Compliance with facility appearance policies (natural hair colors, no facial piercings)

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in critical care and emergency units
  • Support medical education through collaboration with nursing students and multidisciplinary teams
  • Adhere to facility protocols and maintain safety in a high-acuity, trauma level I hospital
  • Utilize Cerner EMR efficiently for patient documentation and communication
  • Participate in orientation and onboarding processes as required, ensuring all credentials and documentation are complete before start date

Additional Details:

  • Contract duration minimum of 13 weeks; no overlapping contracts allowed within the organization
  • Weekly orientations scheduled on Mondays (except holidays)
  • Assigned parking and shuttle services provided
  • Vehicle ownership required for travel team members
