Schedule/Hours:
- Arrive the Thursday before your start date to attend the required employee health appointment on Friday.
In this vital nursing role, youll independently administer a variety of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, and injections according to provider orders. Your experience with accessing and caring for port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters will be essential, as will your proficiency in performing venipuncture, managing dressings, and drawing labs from specialized lines. Youll be responsible for comprehensive care and accurate recordkeeping, monitoring all patient treatments and responses, and swiftly notifying the care team of any unusual occurrences. Patient education forms a cornerstone of this position, as you guide patients and their families through the treatment journey, providing critical information on medications, side effects, and lifestyle modifications.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license, with recent experience in MS Oncology nursing
- Demonstrated proficiency with Epic EMR
- Proven skills in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy administration, and injections
- Experience with central line care: port-a-cath, PICC, and Hickman catheter management
- Knowledge in handling and disposal of hazardous drugs and hazardous PPE use
- Exceptional patient education and communication abilities
- Ability to uphold safety standards and thorough documentation
