Job Description
Deliver specialized care and support for oncology patients as part of a collaborative healthcare team. This full-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact, delivering nursing care alongside skilled professionals. The role supports Monday through Friday scheduling with shifts ranging from as early as 7:00 am to as late as 5:00 pm.
Schedule
- Full-time, Monday-Friday
- Shifts may be scheduled between 7:00 am 5:00 pm
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least one year of nursing experience in oncology required
- Completion of a bio/chemo or ONS Fundamentals course for chemotherapy administration (2-year certification), or eligibility to complete within two weeks of hire
- BLS certification in accordance with American Heart Association standards (to be maintained every two years)
- Comprehensive understanding of nursing principles, including patient examination, clinical procedures, medications and their effects, and patient education
- Familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT coding; proficient with medical office procedures and terminology
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based, professional nursing care to oncology patients, following established standards and healthcare protocols
- Demonstrate sound clinical judgment and competence in patient care
- Collaborate closely with providers and other healthcare professionals to support patient care and education
- Engage patients, families, and caregivers to coordinate and optimize care delivery
- Identify and manage medical emergencies with calm, effective action
- Administer medications and treatments safely, using appropriate equipment
- Apply knowledge of safety procedures and patient care regulations
