Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract assignment in a Magnet and teaching hospital setting, providing specialized nursing care for oncology patients. This position focuses on BMT Oncology and involves administering complex therapies, including auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy, as well as advanced cardiac monitoring.
Schedule:
- Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 07:30)
- Every other weekend required
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum one year of nursing experience, with oncology/MS preferred
- BCLS certification required; Chemo certification highly preferred
- Proven skills in EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias (Must pass Relias EKG exam)
- Willingness and ability to float throughout all oncology units based on departmental needs
- First-time travelers are welcome
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to a 4:1 patient ratio within a 32-bed oncology unit, with an average daily census of 30 patients
- Administer chemotherapy and participate in auto stem cell transplant procedures
- Accurately perform cardiac monitoring and respond effectively to dysrhythmias
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a Level I trauma center and teaching environment
- Adapt promptly to the needs of different oncology units as required per shift
- Utilize EPIC charting systems and maintain meticulous patient records
