Job Description

Step into a dynamic Nursing opportunity specializing in MS Oncology, offering the chance to make a meaningful difference within a Magnet-recognized, teaching Level I Trauma Center. This contract role serves a high-acuity BMT/Oncology unit with 32 beds, supporting an average census of 30 patients. Night shifts are available, following a 3x12-hour schedule from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am. Every other weekend coverage is required, providing both routine and evolving patient care experiences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license and BCLS certification required
  • Minimum one year of MS Oncology experience
  • Chemotherapy administration skills (Chemo certification preferred)
  • Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation/management; passing the Relias EKG exam is required
  • Willingness to float throughout the Oncology department as needed
  • Experience with auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy protocols
  • Prior work with EPIC charting a plus
  • First-time travelers are welcome

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Safely manage a patient ratio of 4:1, delivering high-level nursing care to oncology and BMT patients
  • Administer chemotherapy, monitor for reactions, and support complex care plans
  • Interpret and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a cutting-edge, academic environment
  • Adapt to shifting assignments, floating to various oncology units as patient needs require
  • Uphold protocols within a fast-paced acute care facility
