Experienced registered nurses with a specialized background in Medical-Surgical Oncology are needed to deliver exceptional patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. Key qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience in medical-surgical oncology nursing
- Strong foundational clinical skills in chemotherapy administration, patient assessment, and symptom management
- Ability to effectively educate and support patients and their families regarding treatment plans, side effects, and home care
- Certification in BLS (Basic Life Support); OCN certification preferred
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation abilities
- Adaptable to new technology and electronic medical records systems
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to oncology patients, carefully monitoring for complications and side effects
- Administer chemotherapy and other oncology-specific treatments in compliance with clinical protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop individualized care plans
- Conduct thorough assessments and adjust interventions based on patient needs and clinical judgment
- Document patient progress, interventions, and medications accurately using EMR systems
- Offer educational and emotional support to patients and their families throughout the treatment process
- Promote a safe, healing environment, adhering to evidence-based infection control and safety measures
