As a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Oncology, youll gain hands-on experience in a diverse setting, collaborating with compassionate colleagues and experienced clinicians. Schedule Requirements:

  • Must arrive the Thursday before the assignment starts for a health appointment on Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections
  • Access and manage port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters
  • Perform venipuncture, dressings, and obtain labs via various access devices
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical care to each assigned patient, maintaining complete and accurate documentation
  • Monitor and document intravenous therapies and patient responses
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medications, treatments, side effects, and disease processes
  • Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy
  • Uphold infection control, safe handling of hazardous drugs, and appropriate PPE use
  • Promptly notify providers of unusual occurrences and initiate emergency action as needed
  • Additional duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Recent clinical experience in medical-surgical oncology
  • Proficiency in chemotherapy administration and central line management
  • Strong knowledge of hazardous drug handling, policies, and PPE usage
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR is essential
