Job Description

Advance your nursing career by contributing your skills to a specialized oncology setting within a highly respected Magnet and teaching hospital. This contract position focuses on BMT Oncology and requires adaptability, strong clinical judgment, and compassion in caring for a diverse patient population. This site features 32 beds with an average daily census of 30, and you will have the opportunity to work with advanced procedures, including auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration.

Schedule:

  • Night shifts, three 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 07:30)
  • Every other weekend shift required

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with at least 1 year of oncology experience
  • Required: BCLS certification; Chemo certification preferred
  • Strong skills in EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management; passing the Relias EKG exam is required
  • Experience in chemotherapy administration and management of stem cell transplant patients is desirable
  • Willingness to float throughout the Oncology department based on unit needs
  • Comfortable acclimating quickly to new teams, patients, and procedures
  • Open to first-time travelers

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert care to oncology patients, maintaining a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Provide patient-centered care including monitoring, medication administration, and documentation using EPIC charting
  • Participate actively in departmental needs, including floating to different oncology units as required
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Support with education related to ongoing treatments, comfort, and recovery
