Job Description
Deliver high-level patient care while expanding your oncology nursing skills in a renowned Magnet and teaching hospital recognized for excellence. This contract position invites experienced Registered Nurses with medical-surgical oncology backgrounds to support a dynamic Bone Marrow Transplant Oncology team.
Schedule/Hours:
- 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00 07:30)
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Current RN license
- At least 1 year of relevant nursing experience
- BCLS certification
- Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias; must pass a Relias EKG exam
- Comfortable with floating throughout the oncology department as needed
- Proficient in chemotherapy administration
- Chemo certification preferred
- Willingness to work on various units within the oncology service line
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage an average nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 on a 32-bed oncology unit with a daily census of 30
- Administer chemotherapy and assist with auto stem cell transplants in accordance with hospital protocols
- Float to different oncology units based on staffing needs, ensuring safe and effective care wherever assigned
- Accurately document care using EPIC charting system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in a Level I Trauma Center setting
