As a travel nurse specializing in Pediatric Oncology/Hematology and Adolescent Medicine, youll not only broaden your clinical expertise at a reputable academic medical center, but also enjoy the opportunity to explore a region celebrated for outdoor adventures and Southern hospitality.

Working in a large, multifaceted healthcare environment offers invaluable exposure to advanced treatment protocols, collaborative interdisciplinary practices, and a supportive approach focused on professional growth. Extend your rsum with hands-on experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility and work with a team dedicated to excellence and education.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM shifts
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • No on-call requirements
  • Travelers work 75% of holidays
  • Rotating every 6 weeks

Desired Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year in pediatric acute care (Peds Adolescent Medicine)
  • Minimum 1 year in pediatric hem/oncology acute care (PHO)
  • Will consider first-time travelers with strong pediatric backgrounds
  • BLS certification required; PALS preferred
  • APHON chemo certification required for PHO
  • Proficiency in central line management, chemo administration, and pediatric assessment/critical thinking

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care to children and adolescents with leukemia, solid tumors, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, and other complex diagnoses
  • Manage patient ratios of 1:3-4 for Peds Hem/Oncology, and 1:4-5 for Peds Adolescent Medicine
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, phlebotomy, IV/VAT, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
  • Utilize leading-edge equipment such as Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing
  • Float between PA, PHO, and other pediatric units as needed (excluding Peds ED)
