Deliver exceptional care and expertise as a registered nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Oncology. This contract role offers the opportunity to support patients navigating complex treatment plans and requires advanced clinical skills, strong communication, and a passion for compassionate care.
Key Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Previous experience in Medical-Surgical Oncology nursing
- Proficiency in administering chemotherapy and managing cancer-related complications
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong patient assessment and critical thinking abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive bedside care for oncology patients, including monitoring condition changes
- Administer chemotherapy, pain management, blood transfusions, and other specialized treatments
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, symptom management, and ongoing treatment
- Maintain meticulous and timely documentation in accordance with facility guidelines
- Uphold infection control protocols and contribute to a safe, healing environment
- Advocate for patients physical and emotional needs throughout their cancer journey
