Schedule/Hours:
- Arrive the Thursday before your start date to ensure completion of an employee health appointment on Friday.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN licensure with strong skills in Med Surg Oncology.
- Proficiency in independently administering a variety of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections in accordance with provider orders.
- Competency in accessing and maintaining port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters; venipuncture and dressing changes.
- Experience monitoring detailed intravenous therapy records and swiftly identifying unusual patient responses.
- Adept at patient and caregiver education regarding disease processes, treatment plans, side effects, and nutrition/activity adjustments.
- Proficient with Epic EMR.
- Knowledge of hazardous drug handling, safe administration and disposal, and PPE use.
- Commitment to policy compliance and maintaining a safe treatment environment.
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver thorough clinical care for assigned oncology patients in an 18-bay, semi-private environment.
- Verify informed consent prior to chemotherapy administration.
- Initiate emergency protocols and coordinate with oncology providers as needed.
- Maintain meticulous and timely patient records.
- Carry out additional related duties as assigned.
