This contract role is designed for registered nurses who have experience in supporting oncology patients through challenging phases of treatment and recovery. Qualifications:
- Current and valid RN license
- Proven experience in medical-surgical oncology nursing
- Ability to administer chemotherapy and manage oncology symptoms
- Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills and dedication to compassionate, evidence-based care
- BLS certification required; oncology nursing certification preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized care to oncology patients in a medical-surgical unit
- Monitor patient progress, implement care plans, and adapt interventions as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals for optimal patient outcomes
- Provide patient and family education about diagnoses, treatments, medications, and post-hospital care
- Document all assessments, treatments, and communications accurately in the electronic medical record
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and escalate care when appropriate
Schedule/Hours:
