In this essential contract opportunity, youll play a key role in managing patients with cancer diagnoses, bone marrow transplants, and those receiving chemotherapy, working alongside a respected clinical team in a high-acuity environment.
Schedule:
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 07:30)
- Every other weekend required
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience, preferably in medical-surgical oncology
- Ability to float across Oncology units as needed; assignment based on highest area need
- Successful completion of Relias EKG exam required (Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias)
- Proficient in chemotherapy administration and care for auto stem cell transplant patients
- BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
- Chemo certification preferred
- Experience with Epic charting a plus
- Comfortable working with a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to adult oncology patients, including medication administration and monitoring post-transplant
- Float between various oncology units within the facility, adapting to patient acuity and census needs
- Participate in patient assessments, implement care plans, and perform clinical documentation in Epic
- Respond promptly to acute patient changes, recognizing and managing dysrhythmias
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to maintain quality standards and improve patient outcomes
Additional Details:
- Required to wear navy blue scrubs
- Orientation parking fee is $15; ongoing parking options available for day/night rotation for a fee; night shift parking is free in employee lots
- Modern facility with 32 oncology beds and average daily census of 30
