A specialized nursing opportunity is available in the field of Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Oncology, providing care to patients within a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital. This contract role is based in Florissant, MO, within a short-term acute care setting known for its comprehensive oncology services.
Responsibilities include managing chemotherapy administration and providing care to patients undergoing auto stem cell transplants. The role requires strong skills in EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management, with the successful candidate needing to pass the Relias EKG exam. Flexibility is essential, as floating across various oncology units will be necessary based on patient care demands, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 and an average daily census of around 30 patients.
Professional qualifications and experience sought:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with oncology experience
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant clinical experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Ability to interpret/manage dysrhythmias and pass Relias EKG exam
- Willingness to float among oncology units as needed
Scheduling for this position includes night shifts, specifically three 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM), every other weekend.
