Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical oncology. This role offers the chance to work on a dynamic, collaborative 24-bed unit with a dedicated team focused on providing top-quality oncology care and robust support for new and experienced staff alike.
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, night shift
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license
- Previous medical-surgical nursing experience
- Oncology care background preferred
- Chemo certification highly valued
- ACLS certification strongly preferred
- Ability to utilize the Meditech EMR system
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to oncology and medical-surgical patients
- Collaborate with a supportive charge nurse and nursing team under a primary nursing model
- Administer chemotherapy (for those who are chemo certified)
- Monitor and assess patients, including remote telemetry monitoring
- Perform vital signs as per unit guidelines (every 8 hours or every 4 hours for remote tele patients)
- Communicate efficiently using iPhone-enabled nursing systems for direct access to all team members
- Adhere to evidence-based, magnet facility guidelines and contribute to continuous quality care improvement
