Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical oncology. This role offers the chance to work on a dynamic, collaborative 24-bed unit with a dedicated team focused on providing top-quality oncology care and robust support for new and experienced staff alike.

Schedule:

  • 7:00 PM 7:00 AM, night shift

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active RN license
  • Previous medical-surgical nursing experience
  • Oncology care background preferred
  • Chemo certification highly valued
  • ACLS certification strongly preferred
  • Ability to utilize the Meditech EMR system
  • Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care to oncology and medical-surgical patients
  • Collaborate with a supportive charge nurse and nursing team under a primary nursing model
  • Administer chemotherapy (for those who are chemo certified)
  • Monitor and assess patients, including remote telemetry monitoring
  • Perform vital signs as per unit guidelines (every 8 hours or every 4 hours for remote tele patients)
  • Communicate efficiently using iPhone-enabled nursing systems for direct access to all team members
  • Adhere to evidence-based, magnet facility guidelines and contribute to continuous quality care improvement
