Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a registered nurse with specialized skills in MS Oncology nursing, particularly with experience in bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy administration. The position requires expertise in the interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias, necessitating the successful completion of a Relias EKG exam. Nurses will float within the Oncology department to different units as needed, providing versatile and comprehensive care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 1 year oncology nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are welcome
  • BCLS certification required
  • Chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Ability to interpret/manage dysrhythmias (Relias EKG exam required)
  • Comfortable floating across oncology units as needed
  • Experience with auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy administration

Location Highlights: Position is based in Ballwin, MO, within a leading Magnet-designated teaching hospital and Level I Trauma Center. The facility offers a dynamic acute care environment with a staffed bed capacity exceeding 1,200. Nurses will work in a team-oriented setting with a ratio of 4:1 and an average daily census of 30 patients in a 32-bed oncology unit.

Shift Details:

  • Night shifts: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
  • Every other weekend required

Additional Information:

  • Charting is completed via EPIC
  • Navy blue scrubs are worn
  • Paid parking passes available; different options and rates apply depending on shift and parking location
  • Floating across oncology units is standard practice to meet patient care demands
