Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT) and Oncology department at a leading Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital. This contract opportunity is based in the Ballwin, MO area and offers a rewarding environment supporting patients undergoing auto stem cell transplants and chemotherapy treatments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer chemotherapy and manage care for oncology patients following established protocols
  • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; Relias EKG exam passing required
  • Float within the Oncology department to support units based on patient census and needs
  • Maintain a 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratio with an average daily census of 30 patients
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Comply with hospital documentation practices using EPIC charting

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license with oncology nursing experience; minimum 1 year required
  • BCLS certification mandatory; chemotherapy certification preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in EKG interpretation and dysrhythmia management
  • Adaptability to float across Oncology units as patient care demands fluctuate
  • Willingness to work every other weekend
  • First-time traveler nurses encouraged to apply

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • Night shift schedule: 3 consecutive 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
  • Facility uses navy blue scrubs
  • Parking options include various employee lots and garages with associated fees; free parking provided for straight night shifts
