Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical Oncology for a dynamic contract opportunity. This position offers the chance to deliver quality care within a supportive, high-achieving team focused on both med/surg and oncology populations.
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM 7:00 AM shifts
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Recent med/surg experience required
- Prior experience working as a travel RN or on oncology units strongly preferred
- Chemo certification highly desirable
- ACLS certification preferred
- Proficient with Meditech EMR
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-minded approach
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care within a 24-bed medical oncology unit
- Manage patient loads typically at a 1:5 RN-to-patient ratio, ensuring high standards of safety and patient satisfaction
- Administer chemotherapy (must be chemo certified for handling and administration)
- Perform standard med/surg care procedures, consistently adhering to unit guidelines and best practices
- Participate in remote telemetry monitoring and deliver care to diverse patient populations
- Conduct vital signs assessments per unit protocols: every 8 hours for general patients and every 4 hours for remote tele patients
- Collaborate closely with charge nurses and team members, utilizing the iPhone nursing system for efficient communication and care coordination
- Actively engage in a primary nursing care model and support new team members onboarding
