Job Description
An excellent nursing opportunity awaits in Oconto, WI, for experienced RNs skilled in medical-surgical care. This contract position offers the chance to work in a supportive environment within a Level III Trauma Center, managing a variety of patient types on a dedicated inpatient unit.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical patients, ensuring adherence to unit protocols and standards.
- Monitor patient conditions using telemetry equipment; maintain vigilant observation to promptly address changes.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including charge nurses, LPNs, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and tele techs for effective patient management.
- Utilize EPIC charting system and medical devices such as Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing systems.
- Participate in orientation shifts to familiarize with patient flow and unit operations.
- Maintain safety and infection control standards, including proper use of PPE.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with at least two years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Competent in telemetry monitoring.
- Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced clinical settings.
Schedule:
- Day shift RN to patient ratio approximately 1:4-5.
- Night shift RN to patient ratio approximately 1:5-6.
- Support with tech-to-patient ratios varies by shift.
