Provide expert nursing care on a specialized Neurosurgical unit at a renowned medical center, focusing on patients with neurological conditions such as stroke, seizures, multiple sclerosis, and neurosurgical procedures. This contract opportunity offers a dynamic night shift schedule, promoting professional growth and patient-centered care in an acute inpatient setting.

Location: OFallon, MO

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process to neuro-surgical patients
• Manage a patient load with a ratio of approximately 1:5-6 on the Medical Surgical Unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient condition and response to treatment accurately within EMR systems
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care plans
• Participate in charge nurse duties when needed, demonstrating leadership skills
• Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold patient rights consistently
• Adhere to facility policies including dress code (black scrubs) and equipment protocols, including on-site FIT testing

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 1 year of inpatient acute care experience in Med Surg and Neuroscience
• Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Familiarity with Epic EMR system preferred
• Willingness to work night shifts (7 p.m. 7:30 a.m.) with weekend availability every other weekend
• Ability to float within the unit scope as needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills with a professional demeanor

Schedule & Contract Details:

• Night shift hours, 48 hours per week guaranteed with the option for 36 hours/week
• Contract duration between 13 to 26 weeks with up to 5 days of approved time off per 13 weeks
• Expectation to work at least one major winter holiday during assignment
