This opportunity will place you in a renowned Cardiac Renal Unit within a teaching hospital, ideal for nurses seeking robust professional growth. Exposure to patients with high-acuity cardiac and renal conditions will deepen your clinical expertise, particularly with advanced telemetry, drips, and complex patient populations. The experienced leadership here fosters a learning-rich environment where nurses frequently collaborate, mentor, and gain valuable insight from colleagues and unit leaders with longstanding tenure.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract
- Nights: 12-hour shifts (6:30 PM 7 AM)
- 36 hours guaranteed per week (option for 48 upon request)
- Float requirement: Potential for cross-campus within an 811 mile radius, with 2-hour notice
- Three weekends out of every six-week schedule; every other holiday
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Current active compact RN license
- Certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years strong Cardiac/Telemetry experience
- At least one prior travel assignment
- Level II trauma center experience
- Recent proficiency in EPIC charting (check-off required)
- Tele/12-lead EKG competencymust pass tele tests
- IV, PIV insertions, drip titration, nephrostomy tube management, and related critical care skills
- Strong assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver quality nursing care to high-acuity cardiac renal patients
- Initiate and titrate complex medication drips
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, mentor new staff or students
- Adapt to float assignments per operational needs
- Maintain professional documentation and patient safety
