This 13-week travel opportunity delivers valuable exposure to diverse workplace practices and leadership styles, particularly within a dynamic medical/surgical environment. Youll sharpen skills in trauma, neuro, and orthopedic cases on a bustling 6th floor unit, expanding your clinical repertoire and strengthening your resume with every shift.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour day shifts: Friday, Saturday, Sundayevery weekend
- Shift start time: 5:30 am
- 36 hours per week guaranteed (except during certain holiday closures)
- Holiday rotation as required
- Floating within skillset to facilities up to a 60-mile radius
Qualifications:
- Active Wisconsin RN license
- AHA BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience
- At least 2 years recent Med/Surg experience and 1 prior travel assignment
- Recent EPIC charting experience (within 2 years)
- Required trauma surgical, neuro, and ortho background (must be able to care for post-op neuro and ortho trauma surgeries, including fusions and spinal cases)
- Strong adaptability, resilience, and social skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert nursing care for trauma, neuro, and ortho surgical patients (patient ratio: 1:5)
- Manage chest tubes, PCA/epidural/Q-ball, and CBI for post-op patients
- Float to units based on skillset as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams under a variety of leadership styles
