A dynamic opportunity exists for a registered nurse specializing in medical-surgical care within an established acute care setting. This contract role offers the chance to provide comprehensive nursing services to patients experiencing a diverse range of acute medical and surgical conditions requiring inpatient observation and admission. The setting serves young adult to late adult patients, emphasizing high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to patients with acute medical and surgical needs.
- Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including LPNs, PCTs, and Nurse Interns.
- Maintain patient documentation and communicate changes in patient status promptly.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols, including Basic Life Support practices.
- Participate in competency evaluations including rhythm strip interpretation.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN license with experience in medical-surgical nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm recognition and successful completion of rhythm test.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:6.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
