Step into a high-acuity environment on a dynamic Cardiac Renal Med/Surg Telemetry unit, renowned for its strong leadership and team cohesion. The units manager has steered a dedicated staff for over 15 years, providing a unique opportunity to learn from experienced practitioners and varied patient populations. This travel role ensures valuable career exposure to trauma level II environments, cross-campus collaboration, and top-tier, evidence-based practicessetting your rsum apart for future endeavors.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 13-week contract, 36 guaranteed hours per week; 48-hour option upon request
  • 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM 7:00 AM)
  • Floating within skillset, with advance notice for cross-campus shifts
  • Three weekends in every six-week schedule; alternate holidays

Required Qualifications:

  • Active compact nursing license (attach upon submission)
  • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years recent cardiac/telemetry experience
  • At least 1 previous travel assignment and trauma level II exposure
  • Strong EPIC charting skills (checkoff class required)
  • Telemetry proficiencymust pass required tests
  • High-level assessment, adaptability, and critical thinking

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert care for high-acuity Tele/Medsurg and cardiac patients (Afib, CHF, post ablation, dialysis)
  • Manage and titrate drips (antiarrhythmics, heparin, etc.)
  • Insert PIV, manage chest tubes/indwelling drains, handle nephrostomy tubes
  • Actively precept students and new hires as needed in a teaching hospital environment
