An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in medical-surgical care and telemetry. This contract position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about patient-focused care and thrive in a dynamic hospital environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN licensure required
- Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a med/surg nursing setting
- Proficient interpreting telemetry and comfortable reading tele strips
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Must comply with hospital hygiene standards: no artificial/acrylic nails; nails must be kept short
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Schedule:
- Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care in a med/surg unit with telemetry monitoring
- Monitor, interpret, and act on telemetry data accurately
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and support recovery
- Administer medications, carry out physician orders, and monitor patient responses
- Maintain precise, up-to-date documentation in EPIC
- Educate patients and families about care plans, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Adhere to all hospital policies and infection control protocols to ensure patient safety
