Job Description
A contract nursing opportunity is available in Milwaukee, WI, offering the chance to apply medical-surgical RN expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role centers on caring for a diverse patient population, including surgical cases such as bariatric and orthopedic procedures, as well as patients with cardiac, respiratory, kidney, liver, and stroke-related conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care, including post-operative patient management and wound care
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac, heparin, and insulin infusions (Gtts)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including CNAs, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, and hospitalists
- Utilize EPIC electronic medical records and other charting technologies for accurate documentation
- Maintain patient safety with attention to detail in a Level IV Trauma and Level III NICU hospital environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with at least 1 year of medical-surgical experience
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and post-op care skills
- Experience with chest tubes and glucose management infusions preferred
- Comfortable working within a 1:4-5 patient ratio during the day and 1:5-7 at night
- Ability to work weekend rotations every other week; holiday shifts include one summer and one winter holiday
Schedule and Benefits:
