An opportunity is available for a registered nurse with medical-surgical skills to provide exceptional care in a well-equipped hospital setting located in Milwaukee, WI. Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for medical-surgical patients, primarily older adults, including those with dementia, stroke, diabetes, and multi-organ failure.
• Monitor patients requiring observation care for up to 24 hours in a fast-paced unit.
• Manage specialized nursing tasks such as wound care, insulin drip, chest tubes, tachs, NGT, and PEG tubes.
• Interpret cardiac and other telemetry strips to support patient monitoring.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists, respiratory therapists, occupational and physical therapists.
• Maintain documentation and charting utilizing EPIC electronic health record system.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and use PPE as required.
• Participate in scheduled weekend rotations on a strong weekend program without on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license.
• Medical-Surgical Unit (MSU) skillset with experience caring for older adults.
• Certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
• Ability to manage acutely ill patients and those with complex needs.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
