Providing skilled nursing care in a dynamic Level 1 Trauma hospital, this MedSurg/Telemetry RN role supports a 30-bed unit caring for post/pre-cardiac and step-down ICU patients. Diagnoses frequently managed include CHF, COPD, STEMI, NSTEMI, and Sepsis. This contract position is based in Milledgeville, GA, and welcomes both experienced and first-time travel nurses with a minimum of 2 years in Med/Tele nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care including wound care, post-op monitoring, cardiac telemetry interpretation, and clinical assessments.
• Manage IV insertions, central lines, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and titrate heart rate drips.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and support discharge planning with patient education focused on renal and fluid management.
• Utilize EPIC EMR and unit-specific equipment like Philips monitors and Nova Glucose Stat Strips.
• Work within a team including CNAs assisting with vital signs, glucose checks, ambulation, and patient hygiene.
• Adhere to hospital protocols including BLS and BCR certifications; ACLS and Med-Surg certification preferred.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years Med/Tele nursing experience.
• Competency in cardiac monitoring, telemetry, IV therapy, and critical thinking.
• BLS and BCR certifications required; ACLS and medical-surgical nursing certifications are advantages.
• Experience with glucommander, insulin and heparin drips, and medication titration protocols.

Schedule & Work Environment:

• 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A) with a 6-week rotating schedule including 5-6 weekend shifts.
• Holiday work requirements include one major holiday shift per cycle.
• No call obligations; free on-campus parking is available.
• Orientation includes 1 day facility overview and 2 days departmental training.
• Nursing staff wear navy scrubs; the culture is fast-paced yet team-oriented.
