The position offers 8 weeks of professional growth on a busy Medical/Surgical 6th Floor, with 12-hour night shifts (530p start), immersing you in a variety of trauma surgical, neuro, and ortho patient cases. The guaranteed 36 hours per week, with every other weekend and holiday in rotation, ensures both consistency and work-life balance. Youll float as needed throughout the main facility and within a 60-mile radius, advancing your skills by adapting to new leadership styles and clinical environments.

Nurses here benefit from a collaborative atmosphere, supporting patients with complex needs, including post-op neuro and ortho trauma surgeries. The role is ideal for resilient, socially engaged RNs eager to build on prior travel experience and deepen their expertise in high-acuity settings.

Schedule/Hours

  • 12-hour nights (start time: 5:30pm)
  • Every other weekend
  • Holiday rotations
  • 36 hours per week guaranteed (except holidays)
  • 8-week assignment

Qualifications

  • Active WI RN license
  • AHA BLS & NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 3 years RN experience (required)
  • 2+ years Med/Surg experience & 1 travel assignment (required)
  • Neuro/Ortho Trauma nursing experience (required)
  • Recent EPIC charting proficiency (within last 2 years)
  • Flexibility to float within a 60-mile radius
  • Hard worker, resilient, strong interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a patient ratio of 1:5-1:6 on night shift
  • Care for trauma surgical/neuro/ortho post-op cases (fusions, spines, chest tubes, etc.)
  • Adhere to charting and documentation protocols
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with medical teams
