Job Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical care to support a Level I Trauma Center in Memphis, TN. This contract position offers a dynamic work environment within a large, short-term acute care hospital setting known for its high standards of patient care and critical trauma management.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care on a Medical-Surgical unit following a team nursing model with a patient ratio of approximately 1:6/7.
  • Manage complex patient cases in a Level I Trauma Center, delivering safe and effective care.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Adhere to hospital protocols and compliance standards specific to trauma and acute care nursing.
  • Participate in call and weekend shifts as required, following a fixed 4x12-hour night schedule (7 PM to 7 AM).

Qualifications:

  • Current and active RN license compliant with Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) guidelines.
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience; candidates without immediate recent experience will not be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience working in large hospital settings and Level I Trauma Centers.
  • Prior travel nursing experience is required.
  • Ability to work within a strict 100-mile radius of the facility; local candidates only.
  • Strong competency in team nursing models.
  • Willingness to accommodate weekend shifts as necessary, with schedule specifics to be discussed during interview.
