Job Description

Deliver high-quality nursing care in a cardiac-focused med-surg unit that values teamwork and patient-centered excellence. This contract role is based in Marshville, NC, offering the opportunity to work within a supportive environment equipped with advanced technology such as Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and centralized telemetry monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with cardiac diagnoses including chest pain, MI, arrhythmias, and potential strokes.
  • Manage non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone), heparin infusions, blood products, IV starts, wound care, NGT placement, and central line management.
  • Collaborate closely with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize clinical skills to perform telemetry monitoring and manage medical overflow patients.
  • Float as required within the regional network, supporting multiple facilities as needed, maintaining flexibility and professionalism throughout.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years Med/Telemetry nursing experience.
  • Proficient in cardiac skills and telemetry reading, as well as general med-surg nursing competencies.
  • Comfortable with floating and adapting to varying clinical settings within scope of practice.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collegial, patient-centered, and non-retaliatory unit culture.
