Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with Med Surg Telemetry experience is essential
  • Proficiency in Meditech electronic medical records system
  • Strong time management and critical thinking skills preferred

Location Details: The assignment is linked to a well-equipped 36-bed unit staffed by 32 skilled professionals operating in a supportive environment. This unit utilizes advanced equipment including EKG machines, DynaMaps, bladder scanners, vein finders, and telemetry to monitor cardiac patients. This floor is situated within the South Tower on the 3rd floor of a prominent regional medical center in the Alexandria area.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including post-heart catheterization care
  • Utilize Meditech EMR for accurate documentation and coordination of care
  • Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 6:1, ensuring safety and thorough monitoring
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including nurses (RN/LPN mix), techs, and nursing assistants
  • Comply with unit dress code policy (Ceil Blue scrubs) and scheduling guidelines, including working every other weekend or two full weekends per month

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day and night shift availability preferred
  • Commitment to weekend rotations as specified
