This 13-week opportunity empowers you to work alongside experienced professionals in a 22-bed neuro unit focused on exceptional patient care, with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. The mix of patient populationsincluding those recovering from CVAs, elective surgeries, and cerebral angiogramswill add depth to your resume and sharpen your expertise in neuro assessments, tele interpretation, and critical care protocols. Schedule/Hours

  • 13-week contract
  • 36 guaranteed hours/week (except holidays & orientation)
  • 12-hour nights
  • Every other weekend and holiday

Qualifications

  • Active IL RN license
  • AHA BLS & ACLS certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Minimum 2 years recent Med Surg/TELE experience
  • At least 1 prior travel assignment
  • Neuro experience required
  • Proficient in EPIC charting

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients
  • Conduct strong neuro assessments, dysphagia screens, and manage NIHSS protocols
  • Interpret telemetry, perform venipuncture, handle blood cultures/administration, and NG/nursing tube care
  • Titrate heparin drips and administer various medications
  • Support medical overflow patient care as needed
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team; demonstrate adaptability and resilience
