Youll gain experience in medical-surgical and telemetry units, expanding your clinical skills and engaging with both acute and chronic disease management. This setting fosters professional growth through collaboration with a diverse, expert care team including 24/7 hospitalists, intensivists, and RT support. With floating opportunities across all Med/Tele unitsand occasional assistance in the EDevery shift offers something new to add to your resume.
Scheduling/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- 6-week schedule cycle
- 5-6 weekend shifts every 6 weeks
- No on-call, but holiday coverage required (one shift per major holiday)
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum of 2 years Med/Tele RN experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (must pass EKG competency)
- At least 6 months EPIC EMR experience
- Strong cardiac telemetry experience (monitoring/interpreting rhythms)
- Proficiency with IV drips (insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, etc.)
- Skilled in assessment, discharge planning, patient education, and interdisciplinary care
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct care for MedSurg/Telemetry patients: acute, chronic, post-surgical, and cardiac populations
- Initiate, titrate, and manage required drips (per protocol)
- Collaborate with experienced CNAs, charge nurses, resource/discharge teams, and a dedicated support staff
- Participate in department and facility orientation/training modules
- Float to Med/Tele units and assist with ED holds as needed
