This Med-Surg/Telemetry RN opportunity places you at a large, teaching Level 1 Trauma hospital, with exposure to innovative workplace practices, multidisciplinary collaboration, and diverse patient care scenarios. Expand your resume with hands-on experience in orthopedic and trauma care, advanced cardiac and telemetry monitoring, and complex comorbidity management. You'll collaborate with respected clinicians while developing leadership skills in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Schedule
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 12-shift cycle (every 6 weeks)
- Holidays: One shift each for major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- No on-call required
Qualifications
- Active RN license; BLS required
- 2+ years recent Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
- EKG competency (BCR) required (must pass exam during onboarding)
- ACLS and national specialty certification preferred
- Strong clinical assessment & wound care abilities
- Proficiency in IV/CVL management, insulin/heparin drips, telemetry interpretation, and interdisciplinary coordination
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a broad range of acute and chronic patient conditionsfrom trauma and post-op recovery to heart failure and diabetes
- Perform IV insertions, cardiac monitoring, complex wound care, and discharge planning with robust patient education
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, participate in admission/discharge protocols, and float to other adult Med-Surg/Telemetry units as needed
