Youll be part of a fast-paced, supportive team in a 35-bed unit serving a range of orthopedic, trauma, acute medical, and post-op surgical patientsideal for nurses eager to broaden expertise in high-acuity nursing environments.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour shifts (7A-7P or 7P-7A)
- Every 6 weeks schedule cycle
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 12 shifts
- No on-call required
- Holiday coverage rotating
Qualifications:
- Current RN license
- Minimum 2 years of MedSurg/Telemetry RN experience
- BLS required; must pass EKG competency (BCR)
- ACLS preferred; National MedSurg or Nephrology certification a plus
- Solid skills: clinical assessment, wound care, IV insertion, telemetry, central line management, care coordination, discharge planning, and cardiac monitoring
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level nursing care for orthopedic, trauma, and complex surgery patients
- Administer specialty drips/titrations (insulin, heparin, HR drips)
- Conduct patient teaching focused on renal and fluid management
- Collaborate closely with CNAs, RTs, pharmacists, and physicians in a multidisciplinary setting
- Complete EMR documentation using EPIC
