Step into a dynamic RN position specializing in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry care at a leading Level 1 Trauma and Teaching Hospital. This facility boasts 637 licensed beds, a renowned Chest Pain and Stroke Center, and cutting-edge patient care. Youll work on a 23-bed unit with census ranging from 1023, focusing on complex post-surgical, cardiac, and chronic disease patients in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• 12-hour shifts: 7A7P or 7P7A
• Every 6 weeks: 56 weekend shifts out of 12
• Holiday rotations: Work one shift per major holiday (flexible with manager approval)
• No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications:

• Active RN license (unrestricted)
• Minimum 2 years recent Med-Surg/Telemetry RN experience
• BLS certification required
• Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR) required (must pass EKG competency exam)
• ACLS certification preferred
• Medical-Surgical or nephrology nursing certification preferred but not required
• Skilled in trach care, chest tube management, IV insertion and maintenance, telemetry interpretation
• Comfortable with post-op and wound care, cardiac and insulin drips, and complex clinical assessments

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a patient ratio of 1:46 with strong interdisciplinary support, including CNAs, resource nurses, and round-the-clock RT, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
• Assess, monitor, and deliver care to patients with a variety of post-operative and chronic health issues
• Facilitate safe discharge planning and provide thorough patient education, especially on renal and fluid management
• Float if needed to other adult med-surg/telemetry units
