Work Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts: 6:30 am7:00 pm, 6:30 pm7:00 am
- Weekend rotation: Every third weekend
- No on-call requirement
- Holiday commitment: Expected to work some holidays with fair rotation (only one in back-to-back groupings)
- Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- 1+ year of nursing experience (manager may approve first-time travelers)
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- Skills in trach care, vents, biPAP/CPAP, IVs, PICC and central lines, wound care, bowel programs, TPN, drain/tube and G-tube/PEG care, pulmonary patients, laryngectomies
- Experience with high-acuity rehab patients
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive care to patients with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injuries, strokes, burns, amputations, and multi-trauma (no pediatric assignments required of travelers)
- Patient ratios: typically 1:67
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams (MDs, NPs, PT/OT/ST, phlebotomy, CNAs)
- Utilize Cernero EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
- Float within scope as needed
- Participate in robust orientation including online and in-person sessions
