Job Description
Deliver comprehensive nursing care by utilizing your Registered Nurse expertise in a dynamic healthcare setting that requires flexibility and collaboration. This contract opportunity is based in Los Alamos, NM, involving floating between departments and local locations within a 20-mile radius to meet patient care needs effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized patient care plans.
- Ensure safe, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care across diverse patient populations.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following physician orders and established protocols.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care and support positive outcomes.
- Identify and address patient and family education and discharge needs throughout the care episode.
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and non-licensed assistive personnel, fostering a supportive clinical environment.
- Complete required education and competency testing according to unit and patient population standards.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Strong assessment, clinical decision-making, and documentation skills.
- Experience in adapting to multiple clinical environments and handling floating assignments.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to guide care teams.
- Knowledge of current nursing protocols, safety standards, and patient-centered care principles.
