Seeking skilled Registered Nurses with Medical-Surgical (MS) and Orthopedic experience for a rewarding 7PM-7AM night shift opportunity in Littleton, CO. This contract role is based on a 20-bed orthopedic surgical unit known for its exceptional teamwork and commitment to quality patient care. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:5, fostering a supportive environment for delivering comprehensive orthopedic care.
Location: Situated on the 9th floor of the main hospital building, this unit serves a diverse patient population ranging from elective orthopedic cases to orthopedic trauma patients. The hospital utilizes Meditech EMR, and the orthopedic team takes pride in providing attentive and personalized care, including performing dressing changes and aspirations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage the care of up to 5 orthopedic patients per shift
- Conduct surgical post-operative nursing duties in alignment with unit protocols
- Perform dressing changes and assist in aspiration procedures as needed
- Collaborate closely with the charge nurse and multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
- Apply effective pain management strategies tailored to orthopedic patients
- Uphold unit guidelines emphasizing positive attitudes and teamwork
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current RN licensure with Medical-Surgical and Orthopedic experience
- Proven ability to independently manage multiple patients in a surgical unit setting
- Preferred: Experience in pain management and orthopedic care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a cohesive nursing team
- Positive and adaptable personality dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care
