This contract opportunity offers a vital role in providing compassionate hospice nursing care in Lexington, SC. The position involves delivering skilled nursing services according to physicians orders and agency guidelines, supporting patients with dignity and comfort during end-of-life care. This role directly supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Hospice Assistants, ensuring high-quality care through effective leadership and clinical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care and assess patient medical conditions, reporting significant changes promptly.
  • Supervise and evaluate hospice support staff, including Nurses and Hospice Assistants, ensuring services align with agency policies.
  • Document patient care accurately, including updates to the Plan of Care and communication with physicians and care teams.
  • Conduct home visits and maintain reliable transportation and necessary insurance.
  • Use computer systems for documentation, communication, and online training management.

Qualifications:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license valid in the state of practice; Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) eligibility preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of nursing experience; two years preferred in some states.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong assessment skills with sensitivity to age-specific patient needs.
  • Proficiency with computer navigation and online applications.
  • Valid drivers license with required liability insurance.
