Job Description

Provide expert nursing care as an experienced medical-surgical/telemetry RN in a reputable healthcare setting known for its commitment to patient-centered care and strong teamwork. This contract role, based in Lexington, NC, offers an opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic environment serving patients with diverse and complex medical needs.

Responsibilities include delivering direct and indirect patient care, managing telemetry monitoring, performing lab draws, caring for patients with chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound dressings, and administering PCA pumps and drips such as Amiodarone, Fentanyl, Ketamine, and Heparin. You will collaborate closely with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience; first-time travelers considered with strong Med-Surg background
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency in telemetry strip interpretation and managing complex infusions
  • Ability to function effectively under moderate to high stress and communicate collaboratively
  • Skilled in PIV starts, chest tubes, trach care, drains, and PCA pump management

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts (0630-1900 and 1830-0630)
  • Weekend rotation every other week
  • Work 75% of holidays with managerial approval for time off
  • No on-call responsibilities
