Job Description
Take on a rewarding nursing role supporting adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic Med/Surg setting with a particular focus on renal care. This contract opportunity is ideal for seasoned nurses and first-time travelers alike, offering the chance to deliver high-quality patient care using the latest unit systems and protocols.
Schedule/Hours
- Day shifts: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 19:00)
- Every other weekend required, unless specified otherwise
- Rotational holiday coverage as needed during the assignment
Qualifications & Experience
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (new travelers welcome)
- Current BLS certification
- Comfortable working with adult to geriatric populations
- Strong proficiency with Med/Surg patients, with a focus on:
- Renal patients, HD cath management, manual PD/PD cycler
- Sepsis, tele monitoring, ETOH (CIWA), UTI, CKD, HTN emergencies
- Experience using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
- Flexible to float across similar units
- Able to work within a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse Med/Surg population
- Monitor and manage renal patients, including dialysis and hypertension emergencies
- Document care accurately using Epic and SBAR protocols
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Adhere to best practices and compliance requirements to ensure patient safety

- Scrub colors: Navy, white, or a combination
- RTO permitted: Maximum 7 days
- Orientation: Compliance required for timely start (bi-weekly schedule)
- All candidates undergo a clinical screen for fit prior to placement
