This med/surg assignment promises strong professional growth through exposure to a diverse patient mix, including ortho (total hip and knee replacements, spinal surgeries) and general med-surg (CHF, COPD, kidney/liver/GI issues) cases. Expand your skillset through collaboration with robust multidisciplinary teams and support services, while learning from various leadership styles and best practices. A modern, technology-advanced work environmentwith EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensingis ideal for resume building.
Schedule/Hours:
- Shifts: 0700-1900, 1500-0300, 1900-0700, 0300-1500
- Weekend rotation: every third
- No on-call
- Flexible schedule with approval of up to 7 days of requested time off
- Holiday rotation (up to 3 major holidays per contract)
Qualifications:
- Current RN license plus BLS (NIHSS preferred)
- At least 2 years of recent med/surg experience
- First-time travelers welcome
- Confident in PIV starts, wound/vac care, chest tubes, drains, trach management, and managing bipap/cpap
- Experience handling insulin/heparin drips
- EMR: EPIC experience preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to diverse adult med/surg and orthopedic patients
- Perform tasks such as wound care, dressing changes, and IV management
- Collaborate closely with CNAs, unit support staff, and the multidisciplinary care team
- Float to MS1, Cardiac MS2, and ED Holding as needed within scope
- Maintain proper documentation and uphold patient safety
