Job Description
Deliver comprehensive care as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse with a focus on telemetry patients in a well-established Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital. This contract position offers a challenging environment where clinical expertise and collaboration are key to managing a diverse patient population with conditions such as diabetes, gastrointestinal, respiratory, and renal disorders. The unit supports a patient-centered culture emphasizing reliability and teamwork.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect patient care for up to 5-6 patients per shift.
- Manage complex clinical tasks such as chest tubes, tracheostomies, IV starts, drain management, PCA pumps, and telemetry monitoring.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams including CNAs, phlebotomists, charge nurses, hospitalists, and rapid response teams.
- Utilize electronic medical record systems (Epic) and technology including Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing.
- Maintain accurate documentation and clear communication within a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in a thorough orientation program including two days of departmental training.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years medical-surgical nursing experience.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS are required.
- Strong competency in telemetry strip interpretation and management.
- Proven ability to work well under stress with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with managing infusion drips such as Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, and Heparin.
