A nursing opportunity is available for a skilled RN with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience in Kernersville, NC. This contract position offers the chance to work in a dynamic, academic medical center known for its comprehensive care, including Level 1 trauma services, Chest Pain Center, and Stroke Center designations. The unit consists of 24 beds, providing care for patients with a variety of diagnoses including diabetes mellitus, gastrointestinal, respiratory, renal issues, wound care, chest tubes, and tracheostomies.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid RN licensure with minimum of 2 years Medical-Surgical and Telemetry experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (required for resource team involvement)
• Proficiency in telemetry strip interpretation
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomy care, PIV starts, drain and tube management, PCA pumps, and gtts management (including medications such as Amiodarone, Fentanyl PCA, Ketamine PCA, Dilaudid PCA, Heparin)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to handle moderate to high stress environments and work collaboratively within a team

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect patient care with a focus on safety and quality
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including CNA, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and rapid response teams
• Utilize EMR systems (Epic) and equipment such as Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensers
• Participate in departmental orientation and ongoing training to ensure adherence to protocols and unit culture
