Job Description
Provide skilled medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients in a dynamic hospital setting located in Keaau, HI. This 13-week contract position offers a flexible schedule with varied shift lengths and days, requiring availability for both day and night shifts. The role includes the possibility of floating to surgical pediatrics or transitional care units.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive RN care to patients aged 18 and over in a medical-surgical unit.
- Administer treatments and utilize equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure quality patient outcomes.
- Adapt to varying shift schedules and provide coverage as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical-surgical nursing or higher acuity care.
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Hawaii or commitment to obtain prior to assignment start.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Professional nursing attire with closed-toe shoes; no specific scrub color requirement.
Additional Details:
- New hires must arrive the Thursday before start date to attend an employee health appointment on Friday.
- Scheduled approximately 36 hours per week following orientation week.
- No holiday requests time off during this assignment.
- Orientation includes department-specific training to equip you for success.
