Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730), 3 shifts/week
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call obligations
- Holiday scheduling based on unit needs
Key Qualifications:
- Current KS or Compact RN license
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years recent hospital telemetry experience (within the last 18 months)
- Familiar with a 5:1 RN patient ratio
- Skilled in general surgery, gynecology, urology, and orthopedics
- Proficient in care for cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Competent with Heparin drips, TPN, PCA, and telemetry rhythm interpretation
- Experience with Epic EMR preferred
- Readiness to float to all acute care units
- New graduates will not be considered
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide primary nursing care on a med/surg/telemetry floor, focusing on patients requiring significant physical assistance (e.g., 2-assist mobility)
- Administer medications and treatments, including complex therapies such as Heparin, TPN, and PCA
- Monitor telemetry and interpret rhythms accurately
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and adapt to shifting patient needs, floating as necessary
