Job Description

A Telemetry Registered Nurse with recent experience is needed for a rewarding 13-week contract assignment in Kansas City, KS. This role offers 36 hours per week working night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, including every other weekend rotation. You will serve at a modern acute care medical center specializing in cardiac care, providing critical support to patients with cardiac conditions and telemetry monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care on the Telemetry Unit, utilizing skills in cardiac drip management and post-procedural care involving TR Bands.
  • Administer and monitor cardiac medications such as Heparin, Butamax, Lasix, Cardizem, and medication initiation protocols including Tikosyn and Sotalol.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and optimal clinical outcomes.
  • Float to various acute care units as necessary, adapting to diverse patient care needs.
  • Participate in orientation and training on Epic EMR and facility-specific procedures.
  • Work holiday shifts as required by unit coverage, including Christmas Eve/Day and New Years Eve/Day.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current Kansas Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum one year of recent telemetry nursing experience; 2-5 years preferred.
  • Proficient in managing TR Band care and cardiac drips.
  • Experience with Tikosyn/Sotalol initiation protocol desirable.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • Familiarity with Epic electronic medical record system is beneficial.
